\"summer-camp-and-new-friends\"<\/a> You are thinking to send your son or daughter summer camp? \u00a0Like most people today you turn to the Internet to find the perfect summer camp.\u00a0 Going to your favorite search engine you type in the term “summer camp”<\/em> and immediately you are overwhelmed with hundreds, if not thousands of choices.\u00a0 How do you decide which summer camp is the best choice?\u00a0 Some summer camps appear more often than others.\u00a0 Some appear higher up on the list of choices.\u00a0 So obviously these must be the best summer camps, but are they really?<\/p>\n

In this article we will explore how to use the internet to make\u00a0to find and\u00a0select a summer camp for your son or daughter.<\/p>\n

How to use the Internet to Find the Right Summer Camp<\/h2>\n

When you type in the term “summer camp<\/em>,” how does google or other search engines decide who gets listed the in the top locations of the result?\u00a0 Well as it turns out there are a couple of ways Google and other search engines decide<\/a> which summer camps get the best spots.<\/p>\n

One method is through paid ads.\u00a0 If you look closely at search results you will see that many of the selections at the top of the list and many off to the sides are actually ads that have been purchased by interested parties.\u00a0 Interested parties can pay specifically for a specific word or combination of words they think people will type into a search engine, in this case is the search term \u201csummer camp\u201d.\u00a0 Those who bid the most money will have their ad positioned more visibly at the top or side of the page when someone searches for \u201csummer camp\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n

A second method is by having a high natural search ranking.\u00a0\u00a0 Websites with quality content on their pages that relate directly to the search term, will rank higher.\u00a0 Does the search term appear in the title, is the search term used in the content, do the search terms relate to the overall topic of the page?\u00a0 These and other ranking criteria all help a website to rank well naturally by their content and appear just beneath the paid advertisements.<\/p>\n

The type of summer camp that interests you is important in order to know which terms to use to limit the search results.\u00a0 For example, if I were looking for a summer camp for my son that builds confidence, is challenging physically, has adventure, provides a structured environment, and promotes motivation.\u00a0 I might do a search that includes a combination of the following words: \u201cboys summer camp, rappelling, paintball, military mud course, obstacle course, confidence course, self-discipline, cope course, physical fitness, swimming\u201d.\u00a0 Notice the terms I used are more precise and not just general terms like \u201csummer camp\u201d. \u00a0\u00a0 yields a much more targeted page of results such as that below:<\/p>\n
