Summer Camp Aerospace (pilot training)

Aerospace Elective: Offered as an elective summer program for young men 13-17 years old who are already enrolled in the four week Summer Camp. The total cost for Aerospace Elective is an additional $1200.

Students signing up for flight training during summer camp will receive 5 hours of flight training from one of our three F.A.A. certified flight instructors. The students will receive actual flight time and hands on flying experience in one of our Cessna 152 or 172. All flights are done under the supervision of the flight instructor in a safe and controlled environment. Because of this reason there is no age requirement; just about anyone can experience this.

There are absolutely no solo flights done during summer camp. All summer campers will fly with an instructor at all times.

Students will usually be scheduled to fly twice a week until the end of summer camp or as they finish five hours of flight. Flight schedules are made the second day summer camp, and are based on number of students andinstructor/airplane availability. The first day is strictly orientation/familiarization with the airplane and pre flight inspection, airport environment, policies and procedures and getting to know the instructor they will fly with.
