YOUR CAMPER IS THE ONE DRESS IN A YELLOW SHIRT AND SHORTS, WEARING A RED BALL CAP! 

MMA Summer and ESL Camp 2009 Field Meet got underway Friday evening, August 7th, at 1700 sharp.  As strains from the theme song to “ROCKY” filled the stadium air, parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, and friends came to their feet in applause as over 300 accomplished summer and ESL campers strode onto the stadium track.  “You’ll be able to pick out your camper…he’s the one wearing the red ball cap and the yellow shirt and shorts!” quipped Commandant SgtMaj Kinsley.

Campers rotated through competitive events: 100 yard sprint; 440 relay; Paul Revere; and the ever-popular Izzy Dizzy…and then it was parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters and friends turn to sprint onto the field to greet their campers.  Four weeks has gone by very quickly, and all were amazed to see how tall their camper grew in such a short time…both in mind and body…and yes, as the evening grew, a few tall tales grew even taller. Some may say these tales are destined to reach legendary proportions before the summer’s end! 

All campers returned to their barracks at the culmination of the socialization portion of the evening, in anticipation of graduation the next day.  There were boots to be polished, bags to pack, and a bit of shut-eye in preparation for Saturday, August 8th!
