ARE YOU READY FOR SOME CRAZY COMPETITION???

Summer and ESL Parents, Grandparents, families and friends – get ready for some FUN!!! On Monday morning, MMA Summer and ESL campers tried out the events slated for Friday evening’s competition – and had so much fun they can’t wait to show you their stuff this Friday, August 7th, 5 p.m., MMA’s Bowman Stadium.  Be sure to be there and be the first to pick out your camper from the maze of red caps, red shorts, and gold t-shirts!!!

 

RULES FOR EVENTS

100-YARD SPRINT

  1. Teams will consist of two campers.
  2. Two races will decide contests.  The first and second place campers of heat one will compete against the first and second place campers of heat two in the finals.

440 RELAYS

  1. Teams will consist of four campers.
  2. Contest will be decided by one race. 

TUG OF WAR

  1. Teams will consist of fifteen campers.
  2. Contest will be decided by one (1) pull.

                                                                                 
30-YARD SHUTTLE RUN

  1. Teams will consist of eight (8) campers.
  2. One (1) camper will run 30 yards and touch the hand of the next camper, who will run 30 yards and return to the starting point.  This will continue until all campers have completed the 30-yard shuttle run.

PAUL REVERE

  1. Teams will consist of eleven (11) campers.
  2. One rider plus five campers at each end of 40-yard course in column.  On signal, rider mounts and competition begins as the camper carrying the rider must complete the 40 yards with the rider on his back.  Dragging the rider, carrying the rider in arms or over the shoulder is not permitted.  At the end of 40 yards, the rider mounts next camper for the run back to the starting point. 

DIZZY IZZY

  1. Eight (8) campers per team.
  2. Bats are placed 40 yards from the start/finish line.
  3. Forehead must be placed on the bat.  Contact between the head and the bat must be maintained for a complete revolution.  The larger end of the bat must remain in contact with the ground.
